As a full time resident of Galveston Island, I could not agree more! From my found childhood memories of the island as a young girl fishing with my dad to the day to day activities of life and work, Galveston Island has such a warm place in my heart. The community is rich in history yet full of new growth. It is welcoming to all and offers a sense of peace to each day. Expansive beaches, endless nature explorations, amazing fishing, and breath taking sunsets are just the beginning of what this charming island can offer.
Galveston is full of life with a bustling cruise port, restaurants, shopping, local flare in farmers markets and art walks, countless activities such as festivals, Mardi Gras and entertainment with a movie theater, movie night on the strand, theme and water parks, and the nostalgic 1894 Opera House. There is something for everyone! There is a sense of home and belonging for permanent residence and located just 50 miles from Houston it is the perfect get a way for weekend and vacation homes.
